Koreana Patent Firm is at the center of intellectual property rights in Korea.
Koreana Patent Firm traces its origins to Joon Koo Lee & Partners, founded in 1970 by Mr. Joon Koo Lee (1927–1995), a distinguished patent attorney who served as Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (currently the Ministry of Intellectual Property) and as President of the Korea Patent Attorneys Association. Under his leadership, the firm achieved significant growth, advancing in tandem with the rapid development of Korea’s intellectual property landscape.
In 1991, the firm achieved a second major milestone by changing its name to Koreana Patent & Law Firm. A decade later, in 2001, it was renamed Koreana Patent Firm, its current name, under which it has grown to become one of the largest and most respected patent firms in Korea.
Over the past half century, Koreana Patent Firm has built extensive technical and legal expertise across all areas of intellectual property practice. The firm has also developed robust internal databases, guided by its core management principles of confidentiality, trust, and harmony. Today, the firm employs approximately 170 individuals, including around 60 highly qualified patent attorneys and numerous engineers holding master or doctoral degrees in their respective technical fields. With a global perspective, the firm is committed to delivering top-tier intellectual property services to clients worldwide.
